Job summary

Colorado State University is seeking a Fleet Management leader to guide operations for an 800-vehicle university fleet. You will direct procurement, leasing, rentals, and disposal processes, while overseeing maintenance, parts, shuttle services, and reporting to ensure efficient service.

You will supervise a team, develop budgets, and drive sustainability initiatives across campuses. A CAFM accreditation and strong ERP skills are required, with an emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• 5+ years of progressive fleet management experience in a university or government setting.
• Experience using fleet management software to support fleet operations.
• Experience with ERP systems for requisitioning, payroll, or financial management (e.g., Kuali).
• Demonstrated leadership with at least 4 years of staff supervision.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Experience developing budgets and charge-out rates in a transportation or fleet management setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day fleet operations for the University’s vehicle fleet (approximately 800 units).
• Oversee Fleet Services units: administration, maintenance, parts warehouse, rentals, shuttle operations, and charter bus service.
• Manage expenditures for equipment, repairs, and fleet needs to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Oversee parts inventory and fleet management systems for fuel tracking, work orders, billing, and reporting.
• Analyze vehicle needs, enforce fleet standards, and optimize utilization; advise on disposals as needed.
• Supervise and develop a customer-focused team through coaching and performance feedback.
