Job summary

Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 is seeking a Transportation/Fleet Manager to lead the district's fleet maintenance and daily transportation operations. You will ensure safe, reliable student transport services and oversee equipment, vehicles, and support assets.

Responsibilities include supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating dispatch, ensuring DOT, CDE, and district compliance, managing parts inventories and budgets, and providing training for staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Three years minimum supervisory experience in the transportation field is highly desired
• Three or more years of experience in the transportation field including driving, training, vehicle maintenance, and supervisory responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Manage the fleet maintenance section of the Transportation Department.
• Oversee the daily maintenance and repair of the district's student transportation assets to insure the provision of safe, reliable and efficient transportation services.
• Oversee the daily maintenance of the district's support vehicles and associated equipment.
• Ensure all vehicles comply with DOT and Colorado Dept. of Education and District 8 regulations.
• Schedule and supervise fleet maintenance personnel; respond to road calls and on-call emergencies.
• Analyze and diagnose problems; estimate repair times and parts; issue work orders.
• Maintain district vehicles and equipment; ensure safety and regular inspections.
• Coordinate dispatch to optimize asset utilization and address driver safety concerns.
• Maintain and report on fleet maintenance effectiveness and budgets.
• Drive school bus routes and trips as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
