Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance for a fleet of up to 60 vehicles, diesel and alt-fuel. You will direct technicians, plan repairs, and optimize shop efficiency while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. The role includes budgeting, training, and performance oversight across sites.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years as a maintenance supervisor in transportation, strong planning and leadership, and ASE certifications. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in transportation with OSHA HazCom, Lock Out Tag Out, and Fire Safety.
• Experience managing a shop with up to 60 vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and cost-control abilities.
• Proven leadership, coaching, and performance-management skills.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians and supervisors in the maintenance shop.
• Plan and schedule repair work to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
• Monitor shop performance, overtime, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Ensure safety, compliance with regulations, and quality control inspections.
• Oversee budgets, payroll, records, training, and performance evaluations.
• May require local travel to multiple locations.
