Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a busy maintenance shop and a technician team for preventive maintenance and repairs of diesel trucks, containers, and heavy equipment. You will drive safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance while planning repair work and monitoring performance.

You'll mentor technicians, oversee diagnostics, manage inventory and budget, and coordinate with management to improve processes and outcomes across the fleet.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications and diesel engine expertise.
• Experience supervising maintenance teams.
• 3+ years in heavy equipment maintenance.
• 1 year supervisory experience required.
• Knowledge of DOT/OSHA and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct a technicians group to perform repairs safely and efficiently.
• Monitor performance and redirect activities as needed.
• Report performance and recommend improvements.
• Conduct daily shop huddles, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee diagnostics and road tests for complex repairs.
• Oversee shop inventory and budget within approval levels.
• Maintain knowledge of engines, emission systems, hydraulics, electrical systems.
• Handle payroll and maintenance records.
