Job summary
Republic Services is seeking a highly experienced Business Unit Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee up to 5+ maintenance shops and lead several teams including technicians, maintenance supervisors and managers responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of a large fleet (up to 91+ trucks) across multiple facilities.
The role requires driving safety, efficiency, scheduling, and cost control while ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Qualifications
- Must have strong leadership experience overseeing multiple shops and fleets.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, personnel records, and vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Direct on-site technicians and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient repairs.
- Coordinate scheduling of repair work and manage overtime across shops.
- Monitor shop performance and implement process improvements.
- Lead personnel decisions in collaboration with HR; oversee training and evaluations.
- Maintain preventive maintenance programs and track maintenance costs.
