Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Business Unit Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee up to 5+ maintenance shops and lead teams of technicians and supervisors responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of a large diesel and alternative-fuel fleet. The role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and coordination across facilities to optimize uptime.

You will manage budgets, maintenance records, and a comprehensive preventive program while ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards;

Qualifications

• Advanced root-cause problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership with ability to manage multiple sites and teams.
• Knowledge of OSHA HazCom, Lock Out Tag Out, and Fire Protection regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct on-site technicians and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient maintenance.
• Plan/ schedule repair work, optimize productivity, and manage overtime.
• Monitor shop performance, implement process improvements, and report results.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs across geographic area.
• Manage payroll, budgets, records, and department goals; travel as needed.
