Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a technician team responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks and related fleet assets. You will ensure safety, regulatory compliance and timely delivery of maintenance tasks.

The role requires supervising shop activities, coaching staff, managing parts inventory and collaborating with management to optimize performance and costs.

Qualifications

• 3 years of maintenance experience with heavy equipment.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician or management role.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and related federal/state regulations.
• Strong leadership, training and performance evaluation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to lead technicians to ensure safe, efficient repairs.
• Monitor performance and report to management with improvement recommendations.
• Conduct daily shop huddles, fleet walks and employee coaching/training.
• Make hiring/termination decisions in collaboration with HR and management.
• Inspect outside repairs for safety and compliance and follow up as needed.
• Oversee shop inventory control and budget within approved levels.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of engines, emissions, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes and electrical systems.
