Job summary

Cisco Systems seeks a seasoned Solutions Engineer to bridge Cisco’s innovations with public sector customers. You will partner with Account Executives to design, present, and demonstrate high‑value solutions—from BoMs to PoCs—driving technical excellence and business outcomes.

The role emphasizes strategic consulting, solution architecture, and ongoing learning in data center, security, and cloud. A CCNP or higher is preferred; 7+ years in pre‑sales or related tech and strong networking

Qualifications

• 7+ years in technical pre-sales, systems engineering, or related tech.
• 3+ years deploying or architecting Cisco portfolios or equivalent.
• Foundational internetworking knowledge including routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching, and IP addressing/subnetting.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Technical Consulting: act as the primary technical advisor aligning Cisco’s portfolio with customer drivers to ensure long‑term outcomes.
• Architecting Solutions: design, present, and demonstrate high‑value solutions from BoMs to PoCs as the technical lead on the ground.
• Driving Demand through Education: educate stakeholders on Cisco differentiators to build confidence in our technology.
• Unified Account Planning: work with Account Executives to develop and execute plans leveraging Cisco technology and support specialists.
• Continuous Innovation: stay ahead of tech trends in Data Center, Security, and Cloud to benefit customers.
