Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA seeks an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead risk management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

You will partner with QA, Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, and Warehouse teams to strengthen safety culture, conduct inspections, lead CAPAs, and drive performance data-driven decisions. Qualifications

• Doctorate degree OR
• Master’s degree and 2 years of EHSS experience within a cGMP manufacturing environment OR
• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of EHSS experience within a cGMP manufacturing environment OR
• Associate’s degree and 8 years of EHSS experience within a cGMP manufacturing environment OR
• High school diploma / GED and 10 years of EHSS experience within a cGMP manufacturing environment

Responsabilités

• Partner with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Facilities & Engineering, and Warehouse Operations to strengthen a proactive safety culture and effectively manage EHS risks across the organization.
• Serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for critical EHS programs, including hazardous gas safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, fall protection, non-routine and hazardous work, environmental compliance, and other core EHS programs.
• Lead ergonomic assessments and implement practical solutions that improve employee well-being and reduce musculoskeletal injury risks in both office and manufacturing environments.
• Develop and implement comprehensive EHS risk assessments that identify hazards, evaluate operational risks, and establish sustainable engineering, administrative, and procedural controls.
• Leverage EHS performance data and leading indicators to identify trends, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and measure progress against organizational objectives.
• Conduct workplace inspections, compliance assessments, and field observations to identify opportunities, reinforce safe behaviors, and ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS requirements into change management activities, ensuring operational changes are evaluated for potential safety and environmental impacts before implementation.
• Lead incident response, investigations, and root cause analyses, driving effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) that strengthen organizational learning and prevent recurrence.
• Facilitate EHS business reviews with functional leaders, providing strategic insights, monitoring performance, and driving accountability for key safety and environmental initiatives.
• Build trusted partnerships across all levels of the organization by providing expert EHS guidance, influencing decision-making, and promoting employee engagement through coaching, communication, and education.
• Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and customer assessments while ensuring timely completion of corrective actions and sustained compliance.
• Champion continuous improvement by identifying innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce risk, and advance the organization’s EHS performance.
