Job summary

Amgen is seeking an EH&S Manager I in Thousand Oaks, CA to implement and advance environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs at the site level. The role includes interfacing with internal client groups and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will lead inspections, develop action plans from data analytics, and support emergency response efforts while fostering a proactive EHSS culture across the site.

Qualifications

• Masters degree required; alternative paths with 2+ years EH&S experience or 6+ years for non‑degreed candidates.
• Experience implementing EHSS compliance programs (industrial hygiene, safety, risk).
• Strong data analytics for program improvement and regulatory interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Implement, coordinate and advance EHSS compliance programs at the site level.
• Provide EHSS client representation to R&D, product development, and internal service groups.
• Interpreting and applying federal, state and local EH&S regulations.
• Lead inspections, documentations, and risk assessments; manage emergency response activities.
• Support training and foster EHSS culture across client organizations.
