Job summary

Amgen seeks an EH&S Manager I to lead and coordinate environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs at the Thousand Oaks site. You will implement and advance EHSS compliance initiatives, oversee industrial hygiene and safety programs, and support client groups across R&D, product development, and internal services.

The role requires strong communication, data analytics, and project management skills, with priority on risk assessment, training, and incident investigation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree
• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Sci Tech - EH&S experience
• Associate’s degree and 6 years of Sci Tech - EH&S experience
• High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Sci Tech - EH&S experience
• Experience with EHS management systems
• Experience with industrial safety programs such as LOTO, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, Dock Safety and Hazardous Gas Management, etc.
• Experience with industrial hygiene programs such as Biological Safety, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Chemical Assessments and Ergonomics.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, action oriented, self-starting, program development and project management.
• Postgraduate professional qualification preferred (e.g., CSP, CIH)
• Advanced skills with MS Excel

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex EH&S regulations and develop processes to ensure compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
• Interface with regulatory agencies during on-site inspections and address program needs.
• Maintain records and documentation.
• Identify program improvements by using data analytics and action plans.
• Partner with internal client and site/corporate EHS organizations.
• Act as EHSS representative for internal client organizations, lead culture program, inspections and risk assessments.
• Participate in emergency response activities.
• Facilitation of training
