Job summary

Harvard Library seeks a senior operations leader to provide overall business operations leadership across financial administration, facilities, and human resources. The role reports to the Chief of Administrative Operations and partners with senior library leaders to drive strategic initiatives and an equitable operating infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience supporting senior administrators.
• Experience managing financial transactions, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Ability to work independently and anticipate needs of department and leadership.
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication; diplomacy; organizational savvy.

Responsibilities

• Lead equitable business infrastructure across Harvard Library.
• Oversee budgeting, long-range planning, and financial reporting in partnership with HL Finance.
• Manage HR activities including recruitment, position documentation, and onboarding processes.
• Coordinate with Building Operations on facilities, security, and capital projects.
• Support senior leadership with strategic planning and organizational development.
