Job summary

Harvard Library is seeking a senior operations leader to provide comprehensive financial, HR, and facilities leadership. You will guide budgeting, strategic planning, and governance to support Harvard Library’s mission.

The role collaborates with senior leaders across units to optimize operations and preserve valuable collections. The position offers a hybrid onsite/remote arrangement in Cambridge, MA, with a 90-day onboarding period and a focus on equity, accountability, and cross-unit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience supporting senior administrators.
• Experience in managing financial transactions, forecasting, planning, and analysis.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Ability to work independently and with stakeholders.
• Advanced degree preferred in non-profit or business administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead equitable business infrastructure across Harvard Library units.
• Coordinate HR, finance, accounting, and building operations.
• Support budgeting, long-term financial planning, and reporting.
• Oversee staffing and recruitment processes with CAO and HR.
• Develop onboarding for senior teams and student employees.
• Collaborate with facilities to manage capital projects and security.
• Communicate with leadership and ensure policy compliance.
