Job summary

Harvard University is seeking an Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for the Harvard College Library. The role leads strategic budgeting, forecasting, multi-year planning, and fund management across operating, endowment, and restricted funds.

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will guide budget managers, partner with Accounting and university stakeholders, and drive process improvements while advancing the Library's mission and priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience.
• Supervisory experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Budget management, financial analysis, and financial modeling.
• Experience with financial systems and data query tools.
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead FP&A for Harvard College Library operating budget, forecasts and multi-year plan.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to budget managers and stakeholders.
• Monitor funding sources, endowments, gifts, and other revenue streams.
• Oversee fund utilization, reserves, and staffing plans.
• Develop advanced financial models, dashboards and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with library leadership and university offices on strategic initiatives.
