Job summary

Harvard Library seeks a senior operations leader to provide overall business operations leadership for financial administration, facilities, and human resources. You will drive strategic initiatives, manage a ~$26 million budget for archives and special collections, and partner with senior leaders to build an equitable business infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with increasing level of responsibility and relevant experience directly supporting senior administrators, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in managing financial transactions and budgets, including forecasting, planning, and analysis.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Ability to work independently and anticipate the needs of department, teams, and senior leadership.
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with diplomacy and organizational savvy.
• Proven success in developing collaborative relationships with stakeholders at varied levels.
• Self-motivated and resourceful in identifying and implementing innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute key Harvard Library initiatives and projects for the Chief of Administrative Operations.
• Manage complex business operations and provide HR, budgeting, and facilities leadership.
• Support the AUL for Archives and Special Collections with HR needs, financial planning, and staff development.
• Expand responsibilities to provide high‑level business strategy across Harvard Library leadership.
