Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, seeks a strategic Chief of Administrative Operations for Harvard Library to lead financial administration, facilities, HR, and other critical operations across its complex portfolio.

Reporting to the CAO and collaborating with senior library leaders, you will drive budgeting and long-range planning, policy compliance, staff development, and cross-unit alignment to safeguard valuable collections and advance Harvard Library’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8 years of progressively responsible experience supporting senior administrators.
• Experience in managing financial transactions, forecasting, planning, and analysis.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Ability to work independently and anticipate needs of department, teams, and senior leadership.

Responsabilités

• Create and implement an equitable business infrastructure across HR, Finance, Accounting, and Building Operations.
• Lead Harvard Library-wide planning efforts related to space, risk management, and capital plans.
• Manage budgeting, long-range forecasting, fund management, and expenses for acquisitions and facilities.
• Oversee HR processes including recruitment, position descriptions, and staff development.
• Coordinate with CAO and leadership on strategic planning and communications.
