Job summary

Harvard Law School Library seeks a senior professional to lead its collection development and resource strategy. Reporting to the Director for Collections, this role shapes policy, budget, and workflow to sustain a robust, diverse collection that supports teaching and research.

The Manager will supervise two librarians, partner with Harvard Library, negotiate licenses, and forecast trends to guide long-term strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent.
• 4+ years’ progressively responsible professional experience in an academic or research environment, preferably law library.
• Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee collection development priorities and budget execution.
• Lead negotiations for electronic resources and licensing.
• Develop policies and workflows for collection development.
• Collaborate with Harvard Library central offices and external partners.
