Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a strong EHS leader to manage environmental, health, and safety programs across the corporate EHS team. You will influence operations by promoting proactive risk recognition and mitigation, and collaborate with senior leaders to embed EHS in daily operations.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal and state EHS regulations, developing corporate programs, leading audits, and coordinating injury prevention and workers' compensation initiatives while

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, health or related field and 10+ years related experience required.
Minimum of 5+ years' leadership experience including team development and management.
Ability to make strategic decisions in stressful situations including leading emergency response efforts.
Willingness to travel 50% of the time depending on initiative.
Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate EHS data to drive results.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain compliance with federal and state EHS regulations across the company.
Develop and implement corporate EHS policy, programs, and training materials.
Lead audits (SIPS, EMS, ISO) and close out audit findings in a timely manner.
Coordinate procedures for effective case management and workers' compensation costs.
Lead Sr. Regional Managers to embed EHS into operations and foster a positive work environment.
Develop and manage EHS programs and data systems (Cority, etc.).
