Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a seasoned EHS leader to guide corporate-level EHS professionals and partner with operational leadership to embed a proactive safety culture. You will drive policy development, audits, and risk mitigation across multiple sites, ensuring environmental, health, and safety are at the forefront of our operations.

The role requires strategic decision-making, strong collaboration across functions, and travel up to 50% to support initiatives and site engagements.

Qualifications

Bachelor- level degree in environmental, safety, health or related field.
10+ years of related experience in environmental health and safety leadership.
Ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
Experience coordinating with operations and audit programs.

Responsibilities

Lead EHS professionals at the corporate level and drive proactive risk mitigation.
Collaborate with senior EHS leaders and operations teams to embed safety into daily work.
Develop, administer and audit corporate EHS policies and training materials.
Coordinate audits (SIPS, EMS, ISO) and close audit findings timely.
Oversee medical management and workers' compensation procedures.
Coach and develop senior regional managers to improve EHS performance.
