Job summary

Smithfield Foods seeks a seasoned EHS leader to oversee corporate environmental, health, and safety programs across functions. You will drive compliance with federal and state regulations, lead audits, and mentor regional teams to embed safety into daily operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with senior leaders, data-driven risk management, and continuous improvement to protect people and the planet while supporting business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, health or related field.
• 10+ years related experience.
• Experience leading teams and programs in EHS.

Responsibilities

• EHS Compliance: establish and maintain compliance with federal/state regulations and company EHS programs.
• Corporate Program Development and Administration: develop and implement EHS policy, programs, and training materials.
• Smithfield Injury Prevention System (SIPS), EMS, ISO and Other Internal Audits: prepare facilities for audits and close findings.
• Medical Management and Work's Compensation: coordinate case management and workers' compensation processes.
• Leadership: lead Sr. Regional Managers driving EHS into operations and develop staff.
• EHS Programs: strong background in EHS systems, databases, risk mitigation, audits, and training.
