Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a strong EHS leader to guide corporate and regional teams in environmental, health, and safety initiatives. You will promote a proactive risk management culture, collaborate with senior leaders, and drive programs ensuring safe operations across locations.

Responsibilities include audits, policy development, incident management, and cross-functional leadership. Travel up to 50% is expected to support initiatives and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, health or related field and 10+ years related experience, required.
• Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a leadership role with team development and management, required.
• Ability to make strategic decisions under pressure, including leading emergency response.
• Willingness to travel to other locations up to 50% depending on initiative.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS professionals at the corporate level and influence operations teams across the organization.
• Develop and implement corporate EHS policy, programs, and training materials.
• Prepare facilities for corporate and external audits and close out audit findings.
• Coordinate workers' compensation procedures and manage costs.
• Lead Sr. Regional Managers driving EHS into operations and support a positive employee experience.
