Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an experienced EHS leader to guide corporate and regional teams in environmental, health and safety programs, audits, and risk mitigation. You will collaborate with senior EHS directors, operations leaders and auditors to embed a proactive safety culture across our facilities.

This role includes managing compliance with federal and state regulations, leading program development, incident prevention, and data-driven improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, health or related field required.
10+ years related experience; leadership experience 5+ years.
Ability to lead strategic decisions under pressure and manage emergency response.
Willingness to travel up to 50% depending on initiative.

Responsibilities

Establish & maintain compliance with federal/state EHS regulations and company programs.
Assist in corporate EHS policy development, training, and program administration.
Lead audit readiness and participate in corporate audit teams (SIPS, EMS, ISO).
Coordinate workers' compensation procedures and cost mitigation with operations.
Lead senior regional managers and drive EHS integration into operations.
