Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Senior Content Strategy Manager to lead the Content Strategy team, translating business priorities into scalable messaging across channels and experiences.

You will partner with Brand, Product Marketing, Communications, Digital Experience, and other teams to improve messaging effectiveness, audience understanding, and content governance. You will coach strategists and drive measurable improvements in customer journeys.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Content Strategy, Editorial Strategy, Information Architecture, Messaging Strategy, or related discipline.
• 2+ years leading content professionals, teams, or major programs.
• Advanced knowledge of messaging architecture, content strategy, editorial practices, and audience communication.
• Experience developing and applying messaging frameworks and content-governance practices.
• Experience leading complex content initiatives across multiple functions.
• Experience improving content processes, systems, and reusable models.
• Experience presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Experience influencing decisions across functions without direct authority.
• Strong systems-thinking, planning, facilitation, and project-leadership capabilities.
• Experience operating in complex and fast-changing environments.
• Experience in B2B technology marketing or customer communication strategy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate business, brand, customer, and creative priorities into actionable content plans and messaging across programs, products, campaigns, channels, and experiences.
• Apply and advance practices in messaging architecture, editorial strategy, voice and tone, taxonomy, information architecture, audience strategy, and content operations; advise senior stakeholders on options.
• Establish, apply, and improve standards for messaging, positioning, editorial quality, and content governance; resolve conflicts and align needs.
• Lead the development and adoption of content models, taxonomies, templates, modular frameworks, and lifecycle practices for personalization and reuse.
• Direct content strategy across customer journeys and connected experiences; identify gaps and improve omnichannel consistency.
• Coordinate the Message component across the Idea, Message, and Expression model; build alignment across functions; present recommendations.
• Establish measures for messaging clarity, usefulness, quality, consistency, scalability, delivery; create feedback loops.
• Lead, coach, and develop content strategists, copywriters, and editorial contributors; set objectives and expectations.
• Improve intake, prioritization, planning, governance, review, and resource-management processes; balance planned initiatives with emerging needs.
• Lead unusually complex work across multiple programs and audiences to influence messaging clarity and campaign effectiveness.
