Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Senior Manager of Content Strategy to lead the Content Strategy team, translating business priorities into scalable messaging solutions. You will guide editorial practices, audience strategy, and governance while partnering with Brand, Product Marketing, Communications, Digital Experience, and other functions to optimize messaging and content systems.

You will set priorities, drive team performance, and shepherd complex initiatives across programs and customer journeys,

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Content Strategy, Editorial Strategy, Information Architecture, Messaging Strategy, or related discipline.
• 2+ years leading content professionals or major programs.
• Advanced knowledge of messaging architecture, content strategy, editorial practices, and audience communication.

Responsibilities

• Translate business, brand, customer and creative priorities into actionable content plans and messaging frameworks across programs and experiences.
• Lead and develop content strategists, copywriters, and editorial contributors; set objectives and allocate resources.
• Establish standards for messaging, positioning, editorial quality, and governance; resolve conflicts and guide senior stakeholders.
• Oversee content models, taxonomies, templates, and lifecycle practices to enable personalization and reduce duplication.
• Direct content strategy across customer journeys and omnichannel experiences to improve understanding and consistency.
• Coordinate cross-functional alignment and present evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Establish measures for clarity, usefulness, quality, and scalability; use insights to refine content approaches.
• Lead capability development and succession planning within the team.
• Improve intake, prioritization, planning, governance, and resource management for efficiency.
• Lead complex work across multiple programs and audiences to impact storytelling and brand consistency.
