Job summary

Alliant Insurance Services is seeking a Renewal Underwriter to review, underwrite, and rate broker renewals. This role ensures submission completeness, gathers needed information from Retail Producers and Account Managers, and negotiates quotes with carriers.

Responsibilities include underwriting renewals per guidelines, collaborating with brokers to negotiate terms, and issuing policies while binding coverage. Strong knowledge of insurance and license requirements are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six or more years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry.
• Valid Insurance License highly preferred.
• Must continue to meet requirements for license renewal.
• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites a renewal book of business in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
• Collaborates with brokers/agents to negotiate renewal terms and maintain strong business relationships.
• Analyzes policies and endorsements to identify errors, omissions or discrepancies to ensure agreement with application, quote, proposal, and/or binder.
• Issues policies and endorsements; binds coverage and coordinates binders/evidences.
• Maintains and manages renewal spreadsheet.
• Coordinates the preparation of policy delivery with all related documents.
• Serves renewal inquiries, answering questions regarding client coverage, limits and deductibles.
• Maintains files for renewal submissions and written or lost business.
• Maintains client suspense and conducts follow-ups as appropriate.
• Acts as a technical expert, assisting Account Managers with complex issues.
• Ensures data integrity in agency management system.
