You will communicate underwriting vision, direct operations, mentor managers, and share risk assessment best practices to align strategy with growth objectives.

The role emphasizes measuring agency performance, managing resources, and building strong relationships with key partners and regulators to enhance department reputation and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ten (10) or more years related work experience.
• Extensive property and casualty insurance underwriting experience.
• CPCU license.
• Certificate of General Insurance (INS).
• Associate in Insurance Production (AIP).

Responsibilities

• Lead Commercial Lines Underwriting team to achieve profitable risk selection aligned with portfolio growth goals.
• Measure, analyze and communicate agency performance to ensure alignment with business strategy.
• Mentor lower level managers and team members; provide coaching and development.
• Guide risk assessment best practices and ensure underwriters follow underwriting standards.
• Manage resources and budget to support department goals and fiscal responsibility.
• Influence stakeholders by sharing underwriting expertise with agents, regulators and leadership.
