Job summary

Kapnick Insurance Group in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to build long-term client relationships, coordinate with carriers, and enhance service quality. The role involves collaborating with Client Executives and Account Executives to improve customer experience and deliver value.

You will manage requests, prepare documents, assist with renewals, and support onboarding when carriers change. A strong background in insurance and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Property & Casualty license preferred.
• Industry designations such as CPCU, CIC, AU, CRM, etc.

Responsibilities

• Respond to client requests by phone, mail, FAX, or email promptly.
• Create binders, certificates, change requests and related items accurately.
• Prepare invoices, handle billings, credits and collections.
• Provide new business orientation when carriers change.
• Review and update client operations and risk exposures.
• Coordinate proposals and information for CE to write/renew.
• Collaborate with CE/AE on marketing options and carrier relations.
• Review policy discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Understand loss histories on assigned accounts.
• Train clients on Kapnick Connect.
• Maintain expiration lists and auto ID mailings.
• Process bonds and flood coverage and related policies.
• Process cancellations per agency procedures.
• Work as a team on assigned accounts.
• Monitor voicemail, mail, Outlook and activities.
• Log unprocessed mail and keep EPIC/files up to date.
• Set up new business clients with guidance from AE.
• Attend department and team meetings and trainings.
• Assist team members with client and carrier requests.
• Inform others of carrier programs or changes.
