Job summary

Kapnick Insurance Group is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager in Michigan to proactively manage client services, carrier relations, and renewals. You will collaborate with Client Executives and Account Executives to improve the overall client experience and add value through thoughtful service.

The role emphasizes accuracy in documentation, timely responses, and ongoing training on Kapnick Connect, ensuring smooth onboarding for new and renewing accounts within a team-focused culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry.
• Property & Casualty License preferred.
• Industry designations (CPCU, CIC, AU, CRM) or professional designation (JD, CPA).
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage and respond to client requests via phone, mail, FAX, or email promptly.
• Create binders, certificates, change requests, and related items accurately.
• Prepare invoices and manage billing, credits, and collections.
• Onboard new business and ensure smooth implementations with carrier changes.
• Review client operations and exposures to risk for new/renewal accounts.
• Coordinate proposals, supporting sales pieces, and analysis for CE to write/renew.
• Collaborate with Client Executives and Account Executives on marketing options and carrier relations.
• Understand loss information and histories on assigned accounts.
• Provide training to clients for Kapnick Connect.
• Maintain expiration lists and coordinate Auto ID mailings.
• Process and issue bonds and flood coverage/policies.
• Handle cancellations per agency procedures.
• Log unprocessed mail and maintain electronic files per standards.
