Job summary

Travelers is seeking a motivated Technical Specialist to join our Strategic Resolution Group in Houston, TX. You will handle complex toxic tort, latent injury, sexual misconduct and environmental claims with senior supervision, developing strategies to resolve claims efficiently while protecting policyholder interests.

You will conduct coverage research, evaluate liability, manage litigation strategies, and communicate with policyholders and counsel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years of claim handling, legal, insurance or environmental experience.
• Licensing may be required to comply with state Travelers requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication, and judgment skills.
• Ability to manage complex liability and coverage issues.

Responsibilities

• Coverage Research and Analysis - research policies and analyze coverage. Communicate positions to policyholders.
• Liability Investigation and Analysis - investigate claim facts to determine liability and damages.
• Litigation Management - develop strategies, engage counsel, manage expenses, and settlements.
• Account Management – maintain relationships and coordinate actions on accounts.
• Financial Analysis - estimate financial exposures and budgets with supervisor input.
• File Maintenance and Administrative Compliance - keep well‑documented files and ensure data accuracy.
• Staff Development - possible training, mentoring and interviewing.
