Job summary

Travelers is seeking a motivated team player for the Strategic Resolution Group as a Technical Specialist handling complex toxic tort, latent injury, sexual misconduct and environmental claims with significant financial exposures. You will manage moderate to large exposure claims with complex liability and coverage issues, developing strategies for efficient resolution.

Under general supervision, you will maintain expertise in applicable law across jurisdictions and ensure excellent customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 3+ years of claim handling, legal, insurance or environmental experience.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Licensing requirements may apply to comply with state and Travelers rules.

Responsibilities

• Coverage research and analysis; prepare recommendations and communicate positions.
• Liability investigation and analysis to evaluate damages and advise course of action.
• Litigation management; develop strategy and engage counsel for settlements or trials.
• Account management; maintain relationships and coordinate actions on accounts.
• Financial analysis; estimate exposures and prepare budgets with supervisor.
• File maintenance and administrative compliance; keep organized claim files.
• Staff development; may assist with training, mentoring and interviewing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
