Job summary
Insight Global is seeking a Capacity Planning Specialist in the Houston, TX area to source and secure qualified carrier capacity for shipments. You will confirm rates/equipment, complete dispatch, and coordinate pickup/delivery appointments while monitoring performance and ETAs.
The role requires 2–4+ years in carrier sales or capacity planning, with 3PL/freight brokerage experience and knowledge of domestic ground transportation. Strong organization and communication skills are essential.
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years in carrier sales, procurement, dispatch, or capacity planning
- Experience in 3PL or freight brokerage environment
- Sourcing capacity, negotiating rates, confirming equipment/driver availability
- Proactive issue resolution for carrier/shipments
- Experience with transportation management and real-time visibility platforms
Responsibilities
- Source and secure qualified carrier capacity for shipments
- Confirm rates and equipment and complete dispatch
- Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments
- Monitor shipments and carrier performance
- Track ETAs and communicate service issues
- Collaborate with internal operations to meet customer requirements
- Validate charges and resolve capacity/service issues
