Job summary

Insight Global in Houston, TX is seeking a Capacity Planning Specialist to join our ground transportation operations team. You will source and secure carrier capacity, confirm rates and equipment, and coordinate dispatch and pickups.

You will monitor shipments, track ETAs, communicate service issues, maintain shipment documentation, and resolve carrier or service issues. This fast-paced role requires strong organization and ownership from coverage to final delivery and cost confirmation.

Qualifications

• 2-4+ years of experience in carrier sales, carrier procurement, dispatch, truckload brokerage, capacity planning, or transportation operations within a 3PL or freight brokerage environment.
• Experience sourcing and securing carrier capacity, negotiating rates, confirming equipment and driver availability, and managing loads through pickup and delivery.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and securing qualified carrier capacity for assigned shipments and coordinating pickup and delivery.
• Confirming rates and equipment, completing dispatch, and coordinating appointments with customers and carriers.
• Monitor shipments and carrier performance, track ETAs, and communicate service issues with internal teams.
• Maintain accurate shipment documentation and validate final carrier charges and accessorials.
