Job summary

City of New York, through DCAS, seeks a Staff Analyst to work in the Capital Budget Unit, managing the agency’s capital program and related financial activities.

You will support budget submissions, procurement registrations, and payment processing to ensure funding for projects, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is required, with alternate combinations considered. This civil service role may participate in the 55-a program.

Qualifications

• Masters in economics/finance etc. preferred.
• Combination of education and experience acceptable.
• Experience with large public budget or financial administration.

Responsibilities

• Review payment packages and ensure required documentation.
• Analyze payment packages, invoices, and contract prices.
• Flag discrepancies to prevent overpayments and ensure timing.
• Maintain payment tracking reports and liaise with stakeholders.
