Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions subsidiary, seeks a Business Development Engineer for USSOCOM to bridge RF capabilities with SOF requirements and emerging trends. You will support demonstrations, field trials, and benchmarking across multi-domain, tactical edge environments.

Reporting to the Director of Applications Engineering, you will collaborate with Engineering and Business Development teams, travel up to 50%, and contribute to a roadmap aligned with operational needs while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of experience in systems engineering or defense tech.
• Exposure to SDRs, IP routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Familiarity with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
• Security Clearance: Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire.
• Citizenship required due to client requirements.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking, Linux, or scripting (Python, C++) for test automation.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
• Outdoor field trial environment exposure; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze USSOCOM capability gaps and map needs to radio solutions.
• Plan networks, configure networks, and execute field trials and evaluations.
• Collaborate to benchmark data and validate architecture.
• Align with Business Development on technical needs and priorities.
• Develop and present demonstrations for low-signature, tactical edge needs.
• Conduct market research for integrations with industry partners.
• Engage with stakeholders across USSOCOM PEO-SOF Digital Applications / PEO-C4, SOF AT&L, SOFWERX, and S&T leads.
• Gather field feedback to guide product roadmap inputs and track progress.
• Travel up to 50% to customer sites and labs.
