Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, seeks a Business Development Engineer to bridge RF capabilities with USSOCOM requirements, supporting field trials and demonstrations.

The role reports to the Director of Applications Engineering and involves collaboration across Engineering and Business Development, with up to 50% travel to field sites and labs. U.S. citizenship and a SECRET clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR HS diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Exposure to SDRs, IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, e.g., spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire.
• U.S. citizenship required for Government contracts.
• Background check and drug test required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze USSOCOM capability gaps and map operational needs to tactical radio solutions.
• Support technical planning, network configuration, and field trials.
• Collaborate to verify proposed architectures are technically sound.
• Align work with Business Development priorities.
• Build and present technical demos for USSOCOM and component commands.
• Contribute to RFI/RFP responses.
• Perform market research for potential industry integrations.
• Engage with USSOCOM stakeholders and S&T leads.
• Gather field feedback to inform product roadmap.
