Job summary

Matrix Service Company in Houston, TX is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive strategic growth across the Gulf Coast industrial market. You will focus on securing opportunities in storage terminals, refineries, petrochemical plants, chemical facilities, industrial gas operations, and other process industries.

This role emphasizes construction-related services including mechanical construction, piping, and tank construction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
10+ years in business development or related roles within industrial construction.
Experience in refining, petrochemical, chemical, terminal, industrial gas, or process sectors.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Willingness to travel Gulf Coast region and other target markets.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute growth strategies for the Gulf Coast.
Identify opportunities in industrial construction, maintenance, turnarounds, brownfield mods, tank construction, piping, steel, equipment installation.
Build strategic relationships with owner organizations, including operations, maintenance, and executive leadership teams.
Develop and manage account plans for key clients and prospects.
Coordinate with operations, estimating, engineering, and leadership to develop winning strategies.
Maintain CRM activity, opportunity tracking, and forecasting.
Represent Matrix at industry conferences and client events.
Lead proposal reviews, qualification, and negotiations.
