Job summary

VCU Health is seeking an Ambulatory Access Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Specialty Access function. The role oversees staff, drives workflow standardization, and partners with specialty leaders to strengthen patient access across the organization.

The position requires strong management of Epic scheduling workflows, quality metrics, and enterprise alignment while fostering change management and standardized processes across departments.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in healthcare operations and staff coaching.
• Experience with Epic scheduling workflows and access tools.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills to drive alignment.

Responsibilities

• Leads and supervises Access Optimization Specialists and Design Specialists with coaching and performance management.
• Drives workflow optimization for specialty departments including scheduling design and EHR configuration.
• Collaborates with department leaders and enterprise teams to tailor access strategies.
• Monitors service levels, workload distribution, and performance metrics.
• Participates in design reviews and redesign efforts to drive adoption across stakeholders.
• Supports expansion and optimization of EHR scheduling features including self-scheduling and templates.
• Provides specialty consultations to ensure alignment with access standards.
• Maintains SOPs and knowledge resources for continuity and onboarding.
• Drives alignment of specialty access initiatives with enterprise goals.
• Leads organizational change to standardize workflows across specialties.
