Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking an Administrative Director to serve as the office's senior administrative leader, reporting to the Assistant Dean. You will plan and direct operations, finances, staff, platforms, compliance and partnerships, acting as a key partner to scale the enterprise.

The role emphasizes strategy, service transformation, and financial stewardship, with accountability for a substantial portfolio and cross-functional collaboration across education, research and patient care

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in healthcare admin, business, education, public health, information systems or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive operational leadership in a large academic medical center, including at least 3 years with supervisory authority.
• Proven success in service transformation via redesign of admin processes and enterprise platforms.
• Experience in business development, strategic planning, pricing and revenue generation.
• Experience in a regulated/compliance-intensive environment with external accreditation or regulatory bodies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills, with ability to lead a distributed hybrid team.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and growth by developing multi-year operating plans with KPIs for the office.
• Partner with the Assistant Dean to align office priorities with Medical School education goals and revenue.
• Assess operating model, service portfolio and finances in year one and present a development plan.
• Identify and deliver new services and revenue through partnerships and online products.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, staff supervision, training and succession planning.
• Direct budget and financial planning for a multi-million portfolio and manage recharge models.
