Job summary

The Covenant HealthCare College of Medicine at Central Michigan University seeks an Assistant Dean for Faculty Development to lead faculty development initiatives aligned with the college’s mission. Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, MD/DO, EdD).
• Meets criteria for Associate Professor or Professor rank at CMU College of Medicine.
• Demonstrated experience in faculty development in an academic setting.
• Strong collaborative of interprofessional education.
• Established credentials and experience in medical education, leadership, and/or administration.
• Experience in the professional development and mentoring of medical school faculty.
• A record of scholarly activity with expectation of continued scholarly activity, preferably in educational research.
• Successful attainment of extramural funding.
• Experience in health professions education and commitment to innovative approaches to advancement of educational pedagogies.
• Ability to facilitate interactive learning in large and small group settings.
• Commitment to ensuring members of the university community can thrive.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for faculty development initiatives for medical education and residents.
• Collaborate with Associate Deans to design, develop, implement, and evaluate programs aligned with institutional goals.
• Support faculty in pursuing education, research, and leadership opportunities.
• Advise chairs on appointment, reappointment, promotion, and tenure policies and processes.
• Oversee development of courses, programs, workshops, seminars, and mentorship opportunities.
