Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an organized, customer‑focused store leader to supervise day‑to‑day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, optimize staffing, and drive sales while maintaining the Meijer standard of service.

You will promote a safe, welcoming shopping environment and provide development opportunities for team members. Ideal candidates bring 2–3 years in retail with at least 1 year in a management role, plus strong communication and conflict‑resolution skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas like meat, bakery, produce, deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members across SDITs, hourly staff, and team leaders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach all team members.
• Improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to company standards.
• Provide courteous and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staff staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Support succession planning and career development; participate in promotions decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, sales, and shrink targets for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
• Ensure team is fully trained and maintains safety standards.
