Job summary

Gap Inc. in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking an Assistant Manager who sets the tone for the store and leads a team to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.

You’ll drive profitable sales through customer and product operations, merchandising, and talent development, collaborating with the GM/AGM to coach Leads and Associates. You’ll recruit, hire, and develop Brand Associates, Experts, and Leaders; implement action plans to improve efficiency, and ensure compliance and omni-channel execution.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience required: 1–3 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
• Passionate about retail and fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work flexible schedule including holidays/evenings/weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Willing to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Support strategies and processes to drive store sales and deliver results through a customer-centric mindset.
• Recruit, hire and develop Brand Associate and Expert teams.
• Own assigned area of responsibility.
• Implement action plans to maximize efficiencies and productivity.
• Perform Service Leader duties.
• Ensure consistent execution of standard operating procedures.
• Represent the brand and understand the competition and retail landscape.
• Promote community involvement.
• Leverage omni-channel to deliver a frictionless customer experience.
