Job summary

Hy-Vee Newton is seeking a Service Manager to supervise store operations, lead teams across departments, and ensure prompt, friendly service. The role involves scheduling, training, and enforcing policies while addressing customer concerns and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions across varied situations.
• Strong arithmetic skills for budgeting, shelf tasks, and POS transactions.
• Experience interviewing team members and guiding decisions.
• Ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers and addressing needs.
• Lead by example and maintain positive employee relations across store departments.
• Plan and adjust work schedules; assign duties and monitor completion.
• Supervise store activities in the Department Manager's absence and perform related work.
• Train staff on store policies and procedures; provide ongoing education on changes.
• Evaluate performance and support promotions, transfers, or dismissals as needed.
• Enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment and report injuries.
• Manage merchandise orders, deliveries, quality, and discrepancies.
• Monitor displays and stock levels to meet customer and store demands.
• Review sales and inventory reports and payroll basics for accuracy.
