Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc in Overland Park, KS seeks a Service Manager to supervise store operations across departments, ensure prompt, friendly service, and lead by example in scheduling, merchandising, and policy compliance.

You will develop people, resolve customer issues, and maintain a safe, efficient retail environment, reporting to Store Director and collaborating with department managers to meet store goals and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of similar or related work experience preferred.
• Retail supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and addressing their needs.
• Lead by example and maintain positive employee relations storewide.
• Plan, prepare, and adjust work schedules and assign duties to ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Supervise store activities and assist in the absence of Department Manager.
• Ensure excellent customer service and address issues promptly and professionally.
• Train employees on store policies and safety procedures; provide ongoing education.
• Evaluate performance and support promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions as needed.
• Implement safety procedures and document incidents as required.
• Coordinate merchandise orders, deliveries, and inventory accuracy.
• Understand payroll basics and maintain proper records.
• Process cash transactions and loyalty or utility services as applicable.
• Suggest cost-saving opportunities and effective shelf allocation.
• Protect confidential information related to pricing and sales.
