Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor store entrances, communicate with customers in a friendly manner, and partner with leadership to reduce theft and protect assets.

The role emphasizes professional appearance, vigilance, and proactive engagement with both customers and associates.

Qualifications

1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.
Excellent communication with customers and co-workers.
Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships.

Responsibilities

Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting.
Monitor entrances, exits and high-risk areas to reduce opportunities for theft.
Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty.
Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs.
Role-model safety and address unsafe practices promptly.
