Job summary

Burlington is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help create a secure shopping environment while delivering outstanding customer service. Your presence at store entrances and high-risk areas will deter theft and support a safe, positive shopping experience for customers and associates.

You will greet every customer with a confident, friendly approach, participate in loss prevention efforts, and report incidents to the Manager on Duty.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and monitor store environments.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to support teamwork and safety.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances/exits and high-risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Greet customers with a warm, confident, and energetic greeting.
• Conduct bag and package checks with adherence to safety and security standards.
• Identify and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Support training of associates on shortage reduction programs.
• Maintain professional appearance and comply with dress standards.
• Be a visible partner to store leadership in promoting a secure environment.
