Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking a Sales Manager for the TOMS RIVER, NJ store.

You will lead front-end and service operations, coach the team to deliver a best-in-class customer experience, and ensure adherence to SOPs and company programs to drive sales and service KPIs. Responsibilities include MOD coverage, POS mastery, loyalty program enrollment, and omni-channel order fulfillment, with additional duties across framing, balloons, and events as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the store.
• Willing to work nights, weekends and early mornings.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
• Ensure execution of Company policies and standards, holding team accountable for store conditions and results.
• Model and coach Customer Experience and ART of Selling behaviors, driving conversion and customer satisfaction.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty (MOD) coverage, maintaining floor leadership, service standards, and operational continuity.
• Oversee POS and Self-Checkout systems, supporting smooth transactions and customer support.
• Promote and enroll customers in the Loyalty Rewards Program, driving retention and repeat visits.
• Drive sales and operational excellence in the Knit & Sew Shop, including Cut Bar experience oversight.
• Ensure efficient execution of BOPIS and Same Day Delivery, delivering timely order fulfillment and omni-channel service.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner in maintaining Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
