Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Retail Sales Manager to lead and elevate a high-performing selling culture. You will drive store sales, people development, and exceptional customer experiences across front-end and service operations.

You will coach teams, manage SOPs, and oversee events and in-store programs while ensuring POS accuracy, loyalty enrollment, and omni-channel order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience driving selling KPIs and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading SOPs and Company programs to ensure legal compliance.
• Ensure execution of policies and standards, holding team accountable for store conditions and results.
• Model and coach Customer Experience and ART of Selling to drive conversion and satisfaction.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, maintaining floor leadership and service standards.
• Ensure accurate use of POS and Self-Checkout systems, supporting transactions.
• Oversee Balloons business, birthday party operations, and in-store events.
• Promote and enroll customers in the Loyalty Rewards Program.
• Champion MCC/Extend services, ensuring adoption of protection plans.
• Drive sales and operational excellence in Knit & Sew Shop and Cut Bar experience.
• Ensure efficient BOPIS and Same Day Delivery, omni-channel service.
• Support Custom Framing operations and coordinate with the frame shop.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner in Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
