Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. in Albany-Latham, NY seeks a Sales Manager to lead a high-performance selling culture storewide, overseeing front-end and service operations to ensure brand standards and strong customer experiences.

You will coach and develop team members, ensure SOP compliance, manage POS and Self-Checkout, support events such as balloons and custom framing, and promote the Loyalty Rewards Program to drive retention and sales.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent customer interactions.
• Strong customer service and selling skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading and managing SOPs and Company programs.
• Ensure execution of policies, standards, and store conditions.
• Coach Customer Experience and ART of Selling behaviors to drive conversions.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage and maintain floor leadership.
• Ensure accurate use of POS and Self-Checkout for smooth transactions.
• Oversee balloons, parties, and in-store events; promote loyalty program.
• Drive sales and operational excellence in Knit & Sew Shop and Cut Bar.
• Support BOPIS and Same Day Delivery; coordinate framing services where needed.
• Train, coach and develop team members; uphold Asset Protection practices.
