Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking a Sales Manager in Houston to lead a high-performing store team and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

You will oversee front-end and service operations, ensure brand standards, and drive key sales and service KPIs through coaching and daily leadership. This role requires ownership of POS usage, in-store events, and omni-channel service, including BOPIS and Same Day Delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and early mornings.
• Ability to remain standing for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
• Model and coach best-in-class Customer Experience and ART of Selling behaviors to drive conversion and customer satisfaction.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, maintain floor leadership, service standards, and operational continuity.
• Oversee POS and Self-Checkout systems to support smooth transactions and customer support.
• Drive sales and operational excellence across in-store programs and events (Balloons, Loyalty, MCC/Extend services, Knit & Sew Shop, BOPIS, Same Day Delivery).
• Train, coach, and develop team members through structured onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner in maintaining Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
