Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, training, and customer service excellence.

You will supervise staff, handle scheduling, cash handling, and inventory tasks while upholding agency policies. Strong communication, initiative, and a background in sales and cashier work are essential, with college education preferred but experience may substitute.

Qualifications

• Must have both sales and cashier experience with sufficient knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures to handle daily store operations, paperwork, and accountability.
• Must demonstrate initiative and willingness to work.
• Good verbal and written communication skills essential for communicating with subordinates and store customers.
• Education: College education preferred; experience may be substituted for education.

Responsibilities

• Act as instructor in the subject of “work” to trainees and job placement seekers.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and supervising store personnel per agency policies and procedures.
• Instruct/enforce store safety and security procedures.
• Assist in selling of merchandise and engage in personal sales.
• Receive and check incoming inventory, returns, stock transfers, and donations; place stock on shelves and fixtures.
• Ensure correct sales procedures are used by sales staff.
• Perform daily administrative and clerical functions, cash handling, daily bank deposits, and ordering of supplies.
• Maintain store records, analyze sales receipts, and assess operational efficiency.
• Train store personnel per guidelines and handle customer inquiries and complaints.
